March 2020 Report

God is love, His love and mercies endureth forever. It is the Lord mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. God’s love is new every morning great is thy faithfulness.

The coronavirus – COVID 19 that is claiming lives of many Americans and Nigerians will not touch any of us in Jesus name, Amen. This virus will soon end.

On Sunday March 1, 2020, I preached the Gospel of Christ at Church of Christ, Ikot Akpabio, one soul responded and was baptized.

On 22nd March, 2020, I conducted W.B.S seminar at Church of Christ, Ukana Mkpa Eyop, Abak. We thank God that this dangerous virus has not reached Akwa Ibom State, so the seminar attracted a good number of Christians. We also preached from house to house and enrolled many into W.B.S courses. What we are doing in my congregation is that we do not allow many members to sit together, we try to space them and they wash hands with sanitizers and running water before they enter the Church hall. Large congregations split their services into four sessions. This week the federal and state Government has declared no work, stay at home from Monday to Friday and restriction of flights and closure of boarders. But workers are paid their salaries so that they may have food to eat with their families.

On Saturday 29th March, 2020 I participated in the ordination service of the first batch of Elders and Deacons at Church of Christ, No 3 Udoekpo Lane, Abak where three Elders and Deacons were ordained. It was a grand ceremony because only few congregations have Elders and Deacons here in Nigeria, many people came out to see the ordination.

Brother Chad, let me ask, I will like to attend this year’s ACAC at Eswatini-Mozambique if there are some assistance from Austin Chapel, let me know sir. Thank you

It is our daily prayers that God will continue to protect us from all harms and infections especially this Corona Virus-COVID 19. May this virus ends soon.

Thank you and God bless you richly.

Brief Report

Dear brethren,
I am giving you a short report here

Three Souls were saved that I am aware. We Evangelize. We conduct weekly Bible study. We engage in prayer for sick persons.
A small number enrolled into WBS Study. Completed lessons are awaiting posting due to no available funds. They will be mailed soon as funds will be available.

Two Solar panels were purchased making a total of four Panels to four batteries. As God continue to bless we continue to work in apartment 2 &  3  after completing apartment one. I have made full payment for the Solar items.

We use them to convey persons and Children to worship. We do so for Bible study, Songs practice and Evangelism. About $200 extra will be needed to maintained them and to raised up the body of new vehicle to cope with the degrading roads. This kept waiting because first quarter support from you brethren in Oakley Church was not given to me. Let God bless.

Remain blessed
God protects you all

We are still indebted to the tune of N1,615,000($4,614.28)being part of money loaned on September 2019 for the upgrading of the school building plan and purchasing of the School Bus for Evangelism / Outreach.

With the help of God coupled with my regular visit and placement of membership of one of our students in Egbeda congregation, Egbeda Local Government of Oyo State, we were able to restore the New Testament pattern of worship in Egbeda  congregation.

Due to the directive from the executive Governor of Oyo State on the Corona (Covid-19)pandemic and the State’s effort to curtail the spread of the virus from nearby States; After all ” prevention is better than cure”. The School authority therefore postponed the BVBID degree program of April 6 through 17 to April 20 through May 2,2020.

Udam’s 1st QTR Report

To God be the glory that he has sustained us to do his will in this very trying moment of our lives as we see people killed daily by the novel corona virus that has ravaged the world between December last year and today.

We have made significant progress this quarter in our quest to serve God in the vineyard of the Lord.

Between January and today, the church meeting at Ukpagada have recorded an additional 10 members born through the watery grave of baptism. We suspect that God gave us this increase through the instrumentality of our evangelism strategy that we adopted this year. For twelve weeks now, each Tuesdays is devoted to outdoor open air preaching. The message of the gospel has been preached and his doctrine shared to the world. We are glad to share the result with you knowing that you have been having us in your prayers.Between January and March, I have made 4 evangelism trips to locations in other states to share the good news to the lost and to strengthen the saved to remain saved. Our God has been faithful and his mercies endure forever.

The plan to go to Kenya for mission work got to advance stage before the outbreak of covid 19 that temporality put it on hold. We had already secured visas for the trip and were working on funds to buy the tickets when this global pandemic struck. It is our desire that as soon as everything is brought under control, we will still make the trip.

The church at ukpagada is greatly affected by the lockdown associated by the covid 19 pandemic. The government has ordered a lockdown at the very period of our starting to activate the farming process. The more the farmers stay at home, the more they are tempted to eat from their farm inputs. Any support to help cushion the effect of these lockdown will be greatly affected.

Cheering news: I recently graduated with a bachelors’ degree in Biblical studies from Sunset international Bible institute, Texas through it affiliate school, Darrell Memorial Bible institute Obudu. I desire to enroll immediately for the masters degree in Youth and family from the same Sunset School. I pray the Lord to make a way.God bless you for the support you send to me to make the work around me easy.

It is my desire to be in the states and Canada lord willing this year. My visa interview on the 25th of March was cancelled because of the covid 19. Keep my family and I in your prayers.

BVBI-Lagos Island Report

Our God is gracious in caring for all who are in the kingdom till date. It pleases Him to find us useful in the church especially in the 2nd quarter of the existence of Lagos Island Study Center in Lagos Nigeria. We are were for the first time involved in door-knocking as part of the school program and it worth it all.

ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES: Let me start my report with academic activities in the past few months. We are on the 6th course presently. Bro Abiola Olusoji just finished teaching Homiletics and Bro Frank Ekpodikpo started Old Testament 2 (Study of the History: Joshua – Esther). Having 3 new students. We were 13 before and adding 3 making a total of 16 students. The new students are all male. One of them is a serving minister. 10 students took the last course. We will be visiting congregations to seek for new students. Tim Iwe had a wonderful experience in teaching Evangelical Epistles in Agege and Ikorodu Centers respectively. The wealth of experience gotten during interaction in both centers humbled me and shows the impact of BV program in Lagos. God will bless the brotherhood so much that this program will continue effectively over time.

CAMPAIGN PROGRAM: A great job was done for the Lord in Lagos Island church. We knocked doors at the main wing of the Police Barracks in Obalende and it was an interesting outing. We were 25 in attendance out of which students were 11. We had 22 prospects to follow up by the congregation. We thank BV for giving us this chance to reach out. More of such will help the students have practical field experience in the Lord’s work. Also Satellite Church of Christ had her 7th Annual Bible Lectureship. The Theme for the year was The Power of the Resurrected Christ. It was a four days event in which the last day had three sessions. There was Door Knocking in the morning in which 15 congregations attended. 79 brethren went out and had 28 prospects. The afternoon session was an Open Air Preaching which the Gospel Chariot was used. Two speakers were involved and lastly, we had an evening session the same day in the church compound. The church gave out 4 copies of the Bible with other Study materials. The church will continue with the follow-up.

WBS ONLINE STUDY HELPER: We thank God also for finding Tim Iwe worthy to be involved in online Study help with the WBS program. Am having 1,254 students presently. Two Instructors and graduated students of BV have register to join the Study Help program too.

CONCLUSION: We thank God for the good working going on in Lagos Nigeria. Keep us in your prayer as we pray for you too.

Thanks and God bless you.

Two Baptisms & One Restoration

I bring to you greetings of Love from Nigeria.

Thank you for all you have done and will continue to do to assist in the spread of the Lord’s kingdom in Nigeria. May God continue to bless you all in Jesus name – Amen.

I am reporting the good work God has used me to accomplish in the month of February to 1st March, 2020.

February 5 -8, I travelled with other ministers to Abuja to attend the great workshop 2020 arranged for Nigerian World Bible School Evangelists. The theme was “fixing the broken links”, about 600 ministers attended the workshop, seven keynotes speeches were delivered, one soul was baptized into Christ during the evangelism outings.

On 22nd February 2020, I helped to organize a seminar at N.C.B.C. Ukpom for WBS students on the theme “Christ and His church”

Two keynotes lessons were delivered – I have come that they may have life John 10:10 by Samuel Okon and II identifying the Lord’s church by Monday Akpakpan. Many WBS students from Nigerian Christian School Ukpom and Area churches attended and many new students were enrolled into WBS.

I need a WBS teacher in U.S.A. to send names of students to.

On 23rd February, 2020 I taught in an indoor lectureship at Church of Christ Ikot Akpabio on the subject of “Christian Faithfulness”.

Imo Friday Okon who had wondered away from the fold for three years and was disfellowshipped came out for restoration. He was restored and prayed for his steadfastness.

On 1st March, 2020, I preached again at Church of Christ Ikot Akpabio and one soul by name Goodnews Eugene responded for baptism.

Jane Uyai Joshua, my first daughter received a gift of smart phone for answering many questions during Sunday school. The gift came from Usen Augustine who was the moderator during the service.

The Church of Christ has appreciated one widow Arit John Uko for her steadfastness over the years. She has no children. On Sunday 1st March, the church decided to buy some clothes and give her some money for feeding. This was the first time the brethren here showed such benevolence. We will be doing this as we have the opportunity.

Thanks for your prayers and financial support.

BVBI-Port Harcourt Evangelism Report

Bear Valley Bible Institute Port Harcourt Rivers State started on the first week of November 2019 with two centres and has a total of 61 students.

The centre in Port Harcourt Metropolis is located at the meeting hall of church of Christ Rumuokwuta – Port Harcourt and has 33 students among them are:2 sisters, 7 pulpit preachers and 1 senior citizen of Nigeria.

The second centre is located at the meeting hall of church of Christ Ahoada Town in Ahoada local Government Area of Rivers State Nigeria. Ahoada is about 1 hour 30 minutes drive from Port Harcourt town. This centre has a total of 28 students including: –2 sisters, 6 pulpit preachers and 1 elderly brother in Christ.

From the month of November 2019 to February 2020, the students have studied and written exams on 4 courses which are: Life of Christ, Acts of the Apostles, Christian Evidences and how we got our Bible. For the two centres, we have 5 regular committed teachers.

On Friday 28th and Saturday 29th February 2020, the students of the two centres and their teachers went to a community known as Edeoha in Ahoada – East for evangelism outreach which featured:

  • Open air evangelism
  • House to house evangelism
  • Tracts distributions
  • Street rally

Before we went to the community we visited the traditional ruler and all leaders of the community and obtained their permission to preach the gospel in their community.

During the two day evangelism program, we used public address systems for the open air preaching, while a few students took turns to speak publicly on the street and the village square, many of the students and teachers went into the shops and the homes of the dwellers for house to house preaching.

At the end of the two day intensive evangelism, we got many prospects that were willing to study more with us; we discovered 3 sisters and 2 brothers who were living in the community but had nowhere to worship. We also discovered two families who were members of the church but backslide because they could not found a congregation to worship.  So, we saw the need to establish a congregation in the community. On Sunday being the 1st of March 2020, the director of Bear Valley Bible Institute in Rivers State and a few students who stayed back in the community worshiped with some of the prospects and those brethren who were restored. The worship took place in the community hall and that was how a new congregation was established in the community. A total of 22 worshippers were in attendance.

After the worship, a student of Bear Valley Bible Institute known as Victor Udo who is living in the community but worshiping in Ahoada town was asked to become the preacher of the newly established congregation.

We are therefore, appealing for support for the new congregation and for the young man who is now working as the preacher there.
