Greetings everyone,
It’s been a while and we hope that this update finds you well and staying safe as you continue to serve God faithfully.
We are doing well and staying safe even in the midst of prevalent economic hardship and insecurity that characterized our dear nation, Nigeria. We really need your prayers in relation to the numerous and incessant attacks on the Christians by both the Boko Haram sects and the Fulani Herdsmen. Thousands of innocent souls have been led to their early graves! We live on the great mercies of God and the kindheartedness of people like you!
I was privileged to take my covid 19 vaccine last week. Nse is yet to take hers but will do that soonest. Two of our children had their birthdays recently: our last son Mmemaobong and Iniemem. Our last child was one on the March 23 while Iniemem was 12 on March 29. We celebrated both of them wonderfully and thank God on their behalves too.
My son Kufremfon will commence his West African Senior School Certificate Examinations on April 24. Please pray for him as well as others across West Africa that are taking the same examination.
Peace has gradually returned to Afaha Ikot Ebak area following the dust to dawn curfew enforced in the area by the government. Our brethren are doing fine including our recent convert Serena Usoro( on black dress in the pictures). Please remember this congregation and our brother, FearGod in your daily prayers. Abasiakan continues to do a wonderful work in that area with my help.
The campus Church of Christ in Ebonyi State have gotten a new student preacher who will lead the church in the next two years. His name is Idongesit Sunday Udoh to be assisted by brother Akanimo Udouko. They took over from Ernest Kalu( see Ernest having a handshake with Idongesit in the pictures). I will make another visit sometime in September or thereabout to Ebonyi State to encourage this brethren. Pray for the campus church in Ebonyi State! One baptism was recently reported from there as you can see in the pictures.
We were privileged to follow up on the four young people we met at the river while baptizing Okon Sampson. They are eager to study with us and with their zeal we visited their school recently and distributed over 400 Bible correspondence course enrollment forms. In company with me during this visit was brother Anietie, my wife and brother Micah. When school resumes after the easter break, we will make another visit to the school. A very good privilege brethren!
The church at Utu Ikot Ekpo continues to grow with all our new converts remaining committed to all the weekly activities. Brother Okon and Anietie are doing a very encouraging work likewise other old members. With their commitment to the Lord’s work, I am greatly encouraged in my preaching work with them.
Our studies on the Book of Acts continues to inspire and encourage the brethren. Last Sunday, we studied chapter 12. The past Sundays, I have been preaching on: “The Spiritual needs of others”, ” Lessons from Philip, the evangelist “, and ” Philip, the Evangelist and lessons on evangelism”.
I want to immensely thank many of you that have been a part of this wonderful work. I am greatly encouraged through your generosity and prayers.
Many brethren have responded to my request for funds to enable me purchase another Van following the total breakdown of our former 2000 model Sienna Bus . As I am writing this update, we’ve so far received $7,600 of the $10,000 needed for this Van purchase leaving a balance of $2,400 to complete the needed amount. Will you assist us with a one time financial gift to complete the needed amount? We will greatly appreciate and you can simply send your check to Chad Wagner at:
Austin Chapel Church of Christ, P.O.Box 98, Scotts Hill, TN 38374-0098.
Phone: (615)-542-6282. Email: Wagner.chada@gmail.com. May God richly bless you as you continue to support the cause of Christ.
Once again, thanks immensely for your love, financial support and prayers!
We will continue to do our best in reaching out to the lost with the gospel as long as the Lord allows us. Pray for us, our country and work as we do for all of you!
In Christian love,
Sekeme Ekaiko
