Dear brethren and Family,
I am writing this quick update now that I am home again by God’s good grace after having safe trip from Afikpo in Ebonyi State to Etim Ekpo in Akwa Ibom State! And by God’s good grace, all is well and I have recovered fully from the malaria/typhoid attack likewise my children!
I thank God for granting me the privilege to labor again in Afikpo area of Ebonyi State. They are always an inspiration to me and I hope and pray that my efforts will always be edifying and encouraging to them. Due to their efforts in opening many doors, I have scheduled another visits to the area in May and October, God willing. I have been told, three precious souls baptized into Christ and His Church after my visit last week. God gives this increase through the power of His Holy word ( Romans 1:16; 1 Corinthians 3:6-8). I am often reminded of David’s words in Psalms 107:8, ” Oh that men would praise the LORD for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men”.
My heart is filled with joy and thanksgiving as I arrived home few days ago to kiss again my beautiful wife NSE! My heart is filled with thanksgiving for her help in more ways than I can count, and also for the help, support, and prayers of so many saints who make my work for Christ in Nigeria possible!
Today has been another full- and humid- day, but no one has complained rather we rejoice with the angels of heaven because two more souls( Okon Sampson & Serena Usoro) were rescued from Satan and hell, being washed in the blood of the Lamb. Okon Sampson is the man that lives opposite our church and had Bible studies with us regularly while Serena Usoro worship with the church at Afaha Ikot Ebak where Abasiakan Ekpetor is the preacher! Many saints were edified and admonished to keep fighting the good fight of faith.
Our worship service today Sunday February 28 was inspiring and encouraging. Brother Anietie Michael’s ( Our new convert and student preacher at Nigeria Christian Institute, Uyo) teaching on, ” the plan of Salvation ” was excellent, and then I preached on, ” Why people do not receive Jesus” (John 1:11-12). The teaching and sermon respectively resulted in the baptism of the duo. Attendance today was 33!
Our evening service and other weekly activities continue to hold with encouraging attendance. We are teaching the book of Acts in our evening services.
I pray God to shower all of you with His spiritual blessings in Christ as you draw near His throne of mercy and grace in serving Him!
Thanks for your supports and partnership! And please do remember and pray for some of our needs and our work for Christ in Nigeria!
In Christian love,
Sekeme Ekaiko
