MISSION UPDATES SEPTEMBER AND OCTOBER, 2020
6 BAPTISMS, 3 SEMINARS AND 1 MEN FELOWSHIP
I bring you goodnews and blessings from the brethren in Nigeria. We love you and are praying for you daily for the good work you are supporting in Nigeria. I am particularly grateful for the money you have been sending to assist me in preaching the gospel of Christ to my people in Nigeria. May God continue to bless you abundantly in Jesus name, Amen. I am glad to share with you Mission Updates for the months of September and October, 2020.
- WORLD BIBLE SCHOOL SEMINARS RESULTED IN MANY BAPTISMS: On 13th September, 2020, we conducted WBS Seminars at Church of Christ, Manta II, Abak. I spoke on Christ and His Church. Many visitors from denominations attended and asked many questions. Many non-Christians enrolled into WBS courses and two souls were baptized.
I sent Uforo Udosen, N.C.B.C Students to go and preach at Church of Christ, 62 Bende Road, Umuahia, Abia State. 19-20 September, he came back and reported of one baptism.
We also conducted WBS Seminar at Church of Christ, Oyubia, Oron on 4th October, 2020. Etim Esang, N.C.B.C Student directed us to meet with WBS Students and two souls were baptized.
Clinton Bassey, N.C.B.C Student also reported of one baptism at Church Christ, Obingwa, Abia State during his evangelism on 11th October, 2020.
On 17th October, I participated in the Men Fellowship at Church of Christ, Ediene, Ikot Akwa Ebom, Abak. It had a large crowd of Church Leaders.
On 18th October, I spoke at a Youth Seminar held at Church of Christ, Ikot Ekan, Etinan where many youths gathered to discuss on “Preparation for Marriage”.
- WORLD BIBLE SCHOOL, ABAK TEAM: On 23rd and 27th September and October 29th, WBS Team, Abak met at N.C.B.C WBS Office to plan for WBS Seminars and Evangelism. These meetings will be held monthly every last Thursday of the month.
This Team conducted a seminar on 25th October at Church of Christ, Ikot Ekeyak, Ikono, Uyo. It had a large attendance and many WBS enrollment.
- CHURCH OF CHRIST, ABAK ITENGE, ABAK: I helped to establish the Church of Christ, Abak Itenge on 20th January, 2019. Since then, this young congregation has been meeting in somebody’s compound. They 20th January 2021 and celebrate her second anniversary.
- MULTIPLYING MINISTRY – II TIMOTHY 2:2: My Late Grandfather (maternal), Jerome Udofia Obot took the Gospel to Ikot Obong, Afaha Obong and established the Church of Christ, Ikot Obong, Afaha Obong. My Late Father, Sunday Joshua Ukpong was a gospel preacher and Elder at Central Church of Christ, Ukpom, he baptized me into Christ in 1983.
I also preached and converted Nse Sunday Edet who was from a Qua Iboe Church background in 1987. Today, Nse Sunday Edet is a very powerful preacher and his two sons who are good song leaders in the Church of Christ. To God be the Glory.
